The Union for Contemporary Art is a community arts center creating positive social change in North Omaha. The Union’s commitment to addressing civic issues faced by residents and elevating artistic voices of the African Diaspora contribute to the revitalization and unification of Omaha’s cultural identity. The Union achieves its mission through programs such as the Inside/Outside Fellowship, Co-op Studios, and their Wanda D. Ewing Commission, each providing vital resources and opportunities to innovative as yet underrepresented artists. Led by Founder and Executive Director Brigitte McQueen, The Union has flourished since its inception, nurturing a socially engaged community of artists and residents who work to shift public consciousness on a local and national scale.
