Santa Fe Art Institute supports artists, activists, and creative visionaries through residency programs that focus on an annual theme examining critical social issues in the Santa Fe community. SFAI’s programming allows artists and creative practitioners the fundamental resources to produce ambitious, forward-looking work and engage the general public through exhibitions, community projects, and events. Public engagement is at the heart of SFAI’s programming, demonstrated through its Story Maps Fellowship, which connects artists with Santa Fe city officials to address complex issues impacting residents in the local community. Artists also reach the public sphere through various platforms such as podcasts, webinars, blogs, artist interviews, studio talks, and workshops. SFAI’s commitment to social justice combined with its interdisciplinary approach to problem solving affirm the power of contemporary art to shift our cultural and political landscape.
