The Curatorial Forum convenes for mid-career and senior curators across the nation, wherein participants are able to network and embark on innovative collaborations with each other. The forum will take place over the course of three years, hosting one large meeting of thirty to fifty participants per year in Chicago, corresponding with the art fair EXPO Chicago, and another, smaller meeting in another location. In 2017, the satellite Curatorial Assembly took place in New Orleans in conjunction with Prospect.4 New Orleans, bringing together eight to twelve curators from the region. Each meeting consists of a series of seminars, small group discussions, and peer advisement, allowing for a collaborative generation of ideas for exhibitions, general practices, and creative avenues for meeting the needs of the global curatorial community.

Independent Curators International (ICI) is a unique arts organization that focuses on the role of the curator in contemporary art. Established in 1975 and based in New York, ICI works with curators and art spaces in the city and around the world to produce and present exhibitions, public programs, as well as educational initiatives for professionals. These collaborative programs connect curators from different regions, backgrounds and generations, across social, political, and cultural borders.
